Our Lady of Good Counsel School provides co-curricular activities to enhance the education of our students, and to support the Mission of our school along with an excellent educational program.

Instrumental Lessons

Individual tuition for students wishing to learn a musical instrument is also available at OLGC.

Lessons take place during the school day after 10.30am and is given by external private tutors who use the school's premises.

For the types of instruments offered and the cost of private instrumental tuition please direct your queries to the Music Coordinator.

 

Netball

Children from years 3- 6 are invited to participate in after school netball.

Training is undertaken at the school netball courts by volunteer coaches who are usually parents. 

Games are held every Saturday during Term 2 & 3.

Each Friday morning before school tennis coaching is offered to all OLGC students.

Choir

 

Students in Years 1 to 6, wishing to participate more fully in the musical life at OLGC, may choose to join the extra-curricular School Choir. The school also has a voluntary Liturgical Choir, for Year 3 to Year 6 students. This choir sings at school sacraments and participates in the Sacred Choral section of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival every year. There is the opportunity for students in the choir and who learn an instrument to perform at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival as well as at school masses, assemblies and special events.

 

Coding Club

Learning to program computers is an important skill now that we are living in a digital age. Learning to code doesn’t just mean you can become a developer; it strengthens problem solving skills and logical thinking, and supports key academic subjects such as Science, Mathematics and Technology. Programming is an incredible skill that engages both our creative and our problem solving abilities.
